Bootcamp and Step Blast

Well, I didn't do any workouts over the weekend - I thought I was going to get a good workout digging post holes for the deck we're building. But, alas, it was not to be. The auger we rented did not work, so we have to hire someone else to dig the holes for us using more powerful equipment.

Monday I attempted to make up for the lack of weekend exercise by doing Bootcamp, and boy was it ever tough! It's fun though. I'm feeling a little sore from it today.

And this morning I did Step Blast, which was so much fun, as it always is. I will be receiving a few more Cathe step workouts pretty soon and I can't wait! I've heard amazing things about Rhythmic Step, so I am looking forward to trying that one out. I may trip over my own feet at first, but it will be fun, right?

Catching up

Okay, I've got a few to report. I got a new Cathe DVD yesterday, called Cross Train X-Press. It's actually 6 different workouts on 2 DVDs. 5 of them have a cardio workout followed by strength-training for one upper body part. The 6th workout is all lower body work. And THAT is the one I did today. It was tough. Very tough. The squats were endless. The leg press was endless. And it was all followed by a bazillion abdominal crunches. Oy! But I got through it, and I'm sure I'll be in some pain tomorrow! :-) I do so enjoy the DOMS... it gives me such satisfaction.

Oh boy, it has been a couple of weeks since I updated my exercise blog! *hangs head in shame* I apologize. I have no idea to whom I am apologizing as I don't think anyone actually reads this besides me. So, self, I'm sorry.

BOOTCAMP!!!!

Today is an exciting day for me. I did Bootcamp for the first time ever. This one has been sitting on my shelf for a couple of weeks, and I had not tried it yet because I was just too scared. It is one of the most challenging, if not THE most challenging Cathe workouts in existence. It's a high-intensity circuit workout consiting of 8 circuits of the following format: 1 minute of high-intensity cardio, 1 minute of lower body, 1 minute of upper body, and 1 minute of core training. So you get cardio and a total body strength workout. The cardio is what kicks this workout into high gear really fast. Very high intensity! This workout is fun, and not nearly as scary as I expected. I will be doing it again!
